At Renew Energy we’re focused on providing our customers with all the facts about solar hot water systems, so you can make the right decision for you and your family. Recently we were informed of the stop sale on all domestic stainless-steel tanked products by Rheem. This stop sale affects the entire Western Australia region and is due to an increasing number of areas where Rheem has determined the water chemistry is no longer suitable for stainless steel products.
So, what does this mean for you? Should you stick with Rheem or move on? In this blog, we explain the ins and outs of the stop sale and explain why we believe backing the company you know – rather than the one you don’t – is still the better option for your future solar hot water systems.
What does the stop sale mean and when does it come into effect?
Rheem’s stop sale on stainless steel tanked products has already come into effect throughout Western Australia. The products affected include all Rheem and Aquamax stainless steel solar, gas and electric storage hot water systems.
Rather than restrict certain areas, Rheem have chosen to remove the products from the entire WA market. This is due to numerous variables making it impossible to clearly identify suitable or non-suitable areas throughout the state.
Moving forward, Renew Energy will only be supplying new customers with Rheem’s vitreous enamel tanks. For existing customers who have Rheem’s stainless-steel tanks already installed, product warranties will still be maintained, however any required replacements will be with the appropriate vitreous enamel product.
Why should you still choose Rheem for your solar hot water systems?
Rheem have been manufacturing hot water systems in Australia since 1939. They are the leading providers in Western Australia and throughout the country for gas, electric storage, heat pump and solar water heaters not only for domestic, but for commercial and large project applications as well.
When it comes to their solar hot water systems, their products offer simple installation, low maintenance and better efficiency than any others in the market. They save you 3-4 tonnes of C02 emissions per year and reduce water heating energy usage by up to 80%.
We’ve discussed in a previous blog how it’s important to consider the history of your solar providers. A disappearing business will make your warranty useless and redundant. Rheem have a long-standing reputation throughout the country, which means you can remain confident they’re not going anywhere. By informing their installers of the stop sale, they are doing the right thing by their customers to ensure they continue to provide the very best products for energy efficiency and sustainability.
